The lamp was packed very nicely for shipping. It puts out a lot of light for taking up little space. However, the glass globe is more brown than I had imagined. When lit, of course, it looks like the website picture but most of the day it is not lit so be prepared for a "more brown" overall look.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
