I'm actually using these as "buffet lamps" and they look wonderful! I personally think they look better on than off, so I keep them on whenever I'm home! The construction is nice and sturdy - even though they're kind of tall, there is no "wobble" to them. I love them!
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love this lamp! I wanted a lamp close in design to the lamps my parents had on their 1955 server that I now have. The new lamp is a modern version with a twist. The shade is beautifully done in glass with a weighted base for balance.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
